An alternative...

One of my competitors described my style as alternative (which I think is cool because I often times describe myself as a rock star so that works for me lol!) However, I am pretty sure she meant it as an insult... So I am going to add the phrase to my website :o).  Give me lemons I'll make lemonade... But I need help deciding what direction to take it.
What do you think I should say... Here are a few ideas I have and feel free to add your own...

  • An alternative to bland

  • An alternative to the norm

  • An alternative to the ho-hum

  • An alternative to the boring
Btw the same vendor actually used spider mums and baby's breath in her display (remind you of anything)?! See the past two week's show displays lol!! Just wait until they get a hold of my next show centerpiece :D.

I like "An Alternative to the Norm"-- the rest, frankly, feel like digs at other coordinators, which I think is something you want to avoid-- to retain an air of professionalism. But that's me :)

It was actually a person that does florals not a coordinator, so the alternative is 100% aimed for design clients. The coordinators here are actually really nice. We are a full event design company which is fun.

I agree with An Alternative to the Norm!

And use those lemons to make GALLONS of lemonade! :)

I vote for AN ALTERNATIVE TO THE NORM!!! I cannot believe another designer would say something like that. You're fabulous and she (or he) is just being mean and what I'd call a HATER!

BTW... I love the event you designed, especially the pink candy bar. My favorite color is PINK.

Personally I like "Alt. to Norm" too. You can do a lot more to it.

To quote a good friend, "God don't like Ugly"... sounds like someone was just Jealous of you.

Oh & 1 more quote comes to mind:
"When life gives you lemons... I say F* the lemons & bail"

@beer: you're hilarious lol!!!

@dani: thanks girlie!! the hilarious thing is the entire buffet wasn't pink, there were multi colors used in it, but because everything else coordinated, it worked... i was really pleased with it.

You know me all too well when I say that you are an alternative...

to the status quo!

I say that you're different, fresh, stylish, and definitely unique! You are coloring outside some of the design lines and that's good..great even!

Your weddings aren't the usual, and are an alternative to the status quo, meaning the cookie cutter, been to a hundred like em' before weddings!

I consider that person giving you a compliment! You are an alternative...to the status quo! You rock the boat and rocked that show.

Let me just say, I can relate. And you know this: I am all about the ALT, hahaha! Who wants the same old, same old? Look at it this way, you and I will never run out of new ideas. Time, maybe. But, ideas? Nevah!
